Our Causes

In spite of challenges, Lillian’s Place (LP) still strives to support our neighbors in the struggle to maintain their lives as normally as possible. We continue to seek community grants and reach out to our partners for resources that will enable us to provide basic needs and comfort for the less fortunate in our communities.

As you know, during the 2020-2021 pandemic has been devastating to many in our community and donations have diminished due in part to the pandemic. Though demand has increased while resources have lessened, we are still committed to our neighbors and partner schools and will continue to support them in any way we can. In 2021 we still provided school supplies, Thanksgiving baskets through our Horn-of-Plenty program and toys through Toys-for-Tots and our Fill-a-Sleigh program.  Now, more than ever before, we fully understand how important our support is to those in need and the difference our services make in the community. Lillian’s Place will begin taking request letters for 2023 programs starting in January for the upcoming year.

Four years ago we began a partnership with two public schools in Prince George’s County, MD. Since then we have provided school supplies, school uniforms and holiday resources for needy students and their families. We are proud to announce that Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School in Glenarden, MD and Du Val High School in Lanham, MD are our partner schools and do a Fantastic job! *Catherine Smith’s son is an alumni of DuVal High School and it was chosen as a partner to pay tribute.*  This year we also added  new schools including Bladenburg Elementary School in Bladenburg, MD, William Wirt Middle School in Riverdale, MD and Croom Vocational High School in Cheltenham, MD and we are very excited to partner and support them as a part of our community.

Our letter of Appreciation

Special Thanks to the Joyce Foundation of Chicago, our first Donor of 2020, for providing us with a $5,000 grant!
