The Wealth Vase is one of the most potent feng shui energizers for protecting and attracting prosperity luck into your home. This simple ancient Chinese ritual is so easy to do, but the benefits are enormous! This used to be something only the wealthiest and noblest of families of China were privy to. Today, secrets associated with the creation of a family wealth vase have become available through the teachings of contemporary Taoist and Buddhist masters.

The practice has origins in these two major Chinese traditions, and if you visit some of the older family homes in Beijing, Shanghai or Xian, you might be able to view some magnificently huge wealth vases belonging to the noble families of another time, vases that have lasted through the generations. These wealth vases were credited to bringing continuous wealth and power to these families through the days of the Ching Emperors and Communist rulers, allowing their descendants to successfully weather political and economic changes. Not only does the wealth vase protect your wealth, it also ensures that your resources needed to create new sources of wealth are also protected.

As we have moved into the Period of 9, the meanings of the stars change, and their energy states alter, making it is important that you create a new Period 9 wealth vase. This vase will protect and multiply your wealth, and helps your assets grow.

Come join us for this “Make a Period 9 Wealth Vase” workshop, where we will teach you how to make your personalised Period 9 Wealth Vase, as well as all the necessary empowerment rituals and incantations to activate for increased wealth.

Moving into Period 9, we have the Illness Star 2 and Wealth Star 8 taking on some of each other’s attributes. Both now bring wealth luck, but also illness chi. The Chinese believe that there is no wealth without health, and when one’s physical and mental disposition is strong, one can achieve anything and enjoy everything that life has to offer. To ensure the well-being of all at home, and to be able to manifest true wealth in Period 9, both these stars will need cures whenever they appear.

The best remedy against illness afflictions is the Wu Lou, which is why we design new Wu Lous year after year, and in so many iterations and sizes. In Chinese legends, the Wu Lou, known as the “Gourd of Immortality”, is always carried by Sau, the God of Longevity, as an elixir to good health. It is fast-acting and potent, trapping illness chi and keeping you safe against harm. It is also great for revitalizing stale, stagnant or sickness vibrations that may be present. Every home should have a Wu Lou, or in the case of tackling illness chi in Period 9, two at least!

In 2024, the 2 and 8 Stars reside in the SE and in the North respectively, directly affecting residents of homes facing these two directions, and also those born in years of the Dragon, Snake and Rat, but everyone should place Wu Lous here.

Our new wulou for 2024 is the Abundance Wu Lou, decorated with the magical implements of the 8 immortals to symbolize 8 kinds of goodness entering your life. Having this potent feng shui remedy in your home brings longevity and good health, but also a complete life blessed with an abundance of happiness and good fortune. Its bright red color and motifs do more than protect against sickness; they also energize the wealth-attracting qualities of the 2 and 8 stars.

For big homes, we recommend the Mega Wu Lou. This extra large Wu Lou features 8 cranes to signify joy, happiness and eternal youth, and to symbolize staying physically and mentally youthful despite the passing of time.

If you are feeling tired, unwell, stressed, or burnt out, it could be that the monthly 2 or 8 Stars have flown into the location of your bedroom or main door. They may have also flown into main areas of the home such as the living room or dining room, negatively affecting everyone in the home. In such cases we recommend placing the Wu Lou & Peach Bucket of Good Fortune, or you can hang Wu Lou artwork in these sectors. A Pair of Garuda Wu Lous by your bedside will bring balance back into your life and promote a swift recovery. You can also carry the Abundance Wu Lou Amulet or wear any of our good health accessories to attract auspicious healing energies.

Other auspicious symbols of good health and longevity include tortoises, cranes and peaches. The tortoise is known to live to a hundred years, cranes have a strong connection to immortality and peaches symbolize peace and happiness in one’s old age. Place them on your work desk or anywhere in your living space to further enhance health vibrations.

Those with elderly residents in the home can call on Medicine Buddha for his divine protection. Display the Medicine Buddha Plaque in their bedroom where they can see it clearly, and keep the Prayer Wheel Pendant for Health or Health Talisman Holder close by.Better still if they chant Medicine Buddha’s mantra daily. His mantra is:

TADYATHA OM BEKANDZAY BEKANDZAY MAHA BEKANDZAY RAJA SAMUDGATAY SOHA

The year is young and full of potential; don’t let health obstacles take you by surprise! Get the Fortune & Feng Shui 2024 Book in your animal sign for more insights.

For the Chinese, the first 15 days of the Lunar New Year is when all businesses and families set the tone for the coming year. It is a time when happiness and prosperity rituals create great good fortune luck for the next twelve months, and since this year also marks the start of Period 9, we made sure to go all out!

GOOD DAYS IMPORTANT

We picked an auspicious date to start work in the new year and on the 13th day, we brought in the lions, rolled in the oranges, or “kum” which in Chinese sounds like “gold”, together with golden ingots and coins, and all the good fortune rituals to attract plenty of prosperity. Because 2024 is the Year of the Dragon, we had a magnificent Dragon as well!

GODS OF WEALTH & HAPPINESS

Our WOFS HQ at Northpoint and our flagship store on the top floor of Center Court, Mid Valley, welcomed 5 Happiness Lions bringing ingots, “gold” and lots of prosperity chi. They were accompanied by the God of Wealth (Choy San) and God of Happiness (Hei San), who entertained and hyped everyone up to the beat of loud drums and clashing cymbals, all the while spreading blessings of big wealth and good cheer. A very “laujuak” affair, or great fun in Hokkien, to set the tone for the year ahead!

The lions visited every corner of the premises, refreshing the energies and injecting heavenly chi into each altar. Lion Dances MUST feature lions that are energetic; they must be full of life and manifest happiness vibrations to signify plenty of healthy energy, which is why choosing your lion dance troupe is vital to ensuring you attract great good fortune.

ROLLING IN OF GOLD

The lions also performed the “Rolling in of Gold” ritual where oranges, ingots and gold coins were picked up by the lions and tossed in through the main door of our office and store. These potent symbols of wealth were rolled in as far as possible to ensure deep and lasting wealth.

DRAGON ENERGY

An equally lively Dragon chasing a pearl, as well as a baby Dragon, joined the lions at our store for a spectacular dance, bringing growth and a big dose of pure yang energy to ensure the business will have plenty of creative ideas and opportunities moving forward. Friends and customers came to share our joy and happiness, and partake in the animated drumming and dancing, as well as take home with them the abundant “Kum” (oranges), and golden ingots and coins that were rolled in. All this is part of Chinese New Year tradition – the sharing of good fortune is a must for new prosperity luck to manifest!

COMPLETION RITUALS

To complete the dances, we were treated to the “Heng Ong Huat” ritual at our HQ and the “Golden Dragon” Ritual at our flagship store.

The “Heng Ong Huat” Ritual brings good luck, wealth and prosperity. This features the Chinese character “Heng” made of 88 gold coins and ingots meaning “to prosper”, a pineapple to symbolize welcoming wealth, a “fattkou” to symbolize ever growing prosperity, and 12 mandarin oranges (“Kum” or gold) to represent the 12 Zodiac animals.

At our flagship store, the “Golden Dragon” Ritual was performed to welcome in the heavenly Dragon. 36 mandarin oranges (“Kum”) made up the Dragon’s body, the number representing heaven (Thian), while its feet and tail were depicted using lettuce or “Pak Choy” to represent 100 blessings of good fortune.

PASSING THROUGH THE DRAGON GATE

A major highlight of the event was when everyone was invited to pass through the Dragon Gate, a powerful symbol of achieving personal growth and success, as well as “triple the wealth” so you can bet we passed through as many times as we could!

We go to great lengths to observe all the traditions and rituals to ensure we continue to enjoy good fortune vibrations so our customers and clients can benefit from all the symbols of good fortune we bring their way. Here’s wishing all our friends and followers a wonderful year with much success, wealth, health and happiness!

QUICK REMINDERS TO MAKE 2024 AN EXCEPTIONAL YEAR:

  1. Do NOT face North and do not have your back to the South. This makes you vulnerable to the Three Killingsvery dangerous.
  2. Keep the SE quiet this year, or you risk offending the Tai Sui.
  3. Suppress the Five Yellow in the West with the White Umbrella Goddess Pagoda – SO important to do this!
  4. Remedy the Quarrelsome Star in the Center of your home and office with the 3 Harmony Animals to prevent infighting.
  5. Remember that this year, REDS, BLUES AND BLACKS ATTRACT WEALTH. So when you feel you need a little windfall, wear these colors!

PERIOD 9 FENG SHUI

Updating the Feng Shui of your home & office for Period 9

On February 4th, 2024 at 4.25pm, we leave behind the Earth Period of 8, and move into the Fire Period of 9.

Period 8 is characterized by stability and constancy because Earth is a grounding element. Period 9 however is quite the opposite. Fire is an element that has the capacity to burn, and when it burns out of control, it can be very dangerous.

Thus the Period of 9 is a period when everyone needs to be careful, because Fire is something that can start up suddenly, and once it gets out of control, there is not much that one can do. It is a period when what was accumulated in previous periods can be lost overnight. The Year of the Wood Dragon brings transformational energies with new opportunities. This is a time when the world experiences new beginnings in multiple dimensions of existence.

Time dimension in feng shui is split into days, months, years and periods. Each change brings about its own changes in energy, which contributes to the momentum of each day. Daily flying stars bring small changes, while monthly flying stars can cause bigger changes. Yearly stars bring an even bigger impact, which is why at the start of each year, it is important to update the feng shui of your home or office to make the most of the year. When we change Period, the effects are larger still, when meticulous planning pays off.

The different star numbers not only change in energy levels, some stars also take on different attributes

The shift from Period 8 to Period 9 not only impacts the energy of the stars, but in some cases it also modifies the outcomes that they produce.

In Period 9, the Number 9 becomes the new Current Prosperity star, making it by far the luckiest star number. To make the most of the number 9, you should do your best to activate it. The most significant #9 stars are the water and mountain star 9’s, whose locations are determined by the configuration generated from the natal chart of your home or building. The annual star 9 is also especially potent.

How do you activate the 9? The best way is to determine where your 9 stars are located, and then to energize the sector using bright lights, sound or activity – i.e. by spending more time in the sector. As important is the use of symbols. A powerful activator for the #9 star as we enter this new Period of 9 is the Magic Macaw, protector bird of the South, the direct spirit of the new period. You can also energize the #9 with the 9 Dragon Plaque, the 9 Magnificent Horses, and other good fortune symbols displayed in multiples of 9. Note that in 2024, the annual number 9 star flies to the Southwest sector.

The Victory Star 1 meanwhile also gains strength, making it more auspicious than ever. Tabletop water features or round crystal balls can be used to activate this new Star of Future Prosperity.

The Black Star 2, typically a star to be feared, becomes less malevolent. Its harmful characteristics which can cause accidents, illness and misfortune weaken, while its positive aspects which bring fertility and growth come to the fore when activated with health symbols. Note however that this star is still dangerous, particularly when activated with Earth or Fire elements.

The Prosperity Star 8 however reduces in its chi state. While still being lucky, this star now brings danger of illness when overactivated with water. It is important to keep “deep” water features away from the sector where the 8 star appears (such as ponds and swimming pools). This star should instead be activated with wealth symbols for the year. Place the Azure Dragon with Waves here, or the Magic Macaw.

Both the number 4 and number 6 stars keep their good luck qualities when activated, the 4 bringing love, romance and marriage, as well as success in scholastic pursuits The 6 brings allies and helpful people, as well as invaluable networking luck.

The number 3 and number 5 continue to be unlucky and need remedies. The 3 Harmony Animals should be placed where the #3 occurs, while multiple units of 5 Element Pagodas will be needed to keep the misfortune star 5 under control.

The Loss Star#7 is the most dangerous star in the Period of 9 and needs strong remedies. Protective symbols such as the Door Guardian Plaque and the Rhino & Elephant with Ksitigarbha Staff are needed where the #7 is located. In 2024, the annual 7 flies to the South.

The best way to safeguard your feng shui as we head into a new lunar year and into a new Period is to identify where the new stars have flown. Use both the year’s annual Flying Star chart as well as the natal chart of your home to determine sectors that need particular care. While it is best to suppress all negative stars with feng shui remedies, while activating positive stars with enhancers to maximize your good fortune, particular attention should be given to the most important rooms of the home, which are the main door sector, the living and dining areas, and for the luck of individuals within the household, the occupants’ bedrooms.

FIRST STEP – DECLUTTER!

Before you do anything else, the first step in updating your home is to DECLUTTER your home. Give away or throw away old, damaged, or unwanted items – shoes and clothes that you no longer wear or use, crockery that have chips or cracks, memorabilia that is more clutter than souvenir. Remember, you do not want to enter period 9 using cups or plates that are chipped or damaged, as that can affect your existing wealth. Damaged clothes, shoes, and tainted family photos meanwhile can seriously affect your health. Memorabilia that associate with unhappy memories can bring unhappiness. It is also important that damaged walls, floor or ceilings and water leaks be repaired as soon as possible as these can bring bad luck, loss of wealth and poor health to all at home.

SECOND STEP – EXPEL STALE ENERGY

The second step is to remove stale chi from your home using a singing bowl and burning incense. Open all doors and windows to allow fresh air and sun light to come in, while allowing stale chi to exit. Using the mallet, gently strike the edge of the Singing Bowl with 3 Harmony Animals to make it hum. Place the Period 9 Heavenly Blessing Purification Incense on your incense burner, light it and walk around each room of your home 9 times in a clockwise direction while chanting the Vajrasattva Purification Mantra. As you do so, imagine you are offering the incense to the Buddhas, the Dharma, the Sangha, and to all the spirits, protectors and local landlords co-inhabiting your space. This ritual can be done monthly, and also after any arguments occur at home.

The Vajrasattva Purification Mantra

OM VAJRASATTVA SAMAYA – MANU PALAYA

VAJRASATTVA DENO PA TITA

DIDO MAY BHAWA

SUTO KAYO MAY BHAWA

SUPO KAYO MAY BHAWA

ANU RAKTO MAY BHAWA

SARWA SIDDHI ME PRAYATSA

SARWA KARMA SU TSA MAY

TSITAM SHRIYAM KURU HUM

BHAGAWAN – SARWA TATHAGATA

VAJRA MA MAY MU TSA

VAJRA CHAWA MAHA SAMAYA SATTVA – AH HUM PEH

Leave the windows and doors open for 15 minutes after performing this ritual to complete the exchange of chi.

During the 15 days of Chinese New Year which falls on 10th February 2024, which is the day of the Dragon, you should perform this ritual, except that for the first 5 days from the night of February 9th till February 14th you should burn the Period 9 Wealth-Attracting Incense instead to activate new wealth and protect your existing wealth. Chant the Wealth Mantra of Norbu Sangpo as many times as you can.

Wealth Mantra of Norbu Sangpo

NAMO RATNA TRAYAYA

NAMO MANEEBHA-DRAYA MAHAYAK-SHA

SUR-RATAY SUS-MAHATAY SUSMA-PATAY HELI-KEY-HEELA-KALI

POONAYA-SIDDHI-BHADRA HILI HILI SVAHA

From February 15th till the 24th you should burn the Period 9 Health & Longevity Incense instead to bring good health and happiness to your home. Chant The Boundless Life Mantra 108 times.

The Boundless Life Mantra

OM NAMO BHAGAWATE

APARI-MITA AYUR-JÑANA SUBINI-SCHITA TEJO RAJAYA

TATHA-GATA-YA ARHATE SAMYAK-SAM-BUDDHAYA

TADYATHA OM PUNYE PUNYE MAHA PUNYE

OM SARVA SAM-SKARA PARI-SHUDDHA DHARMA-TE

GAGANA SAMUD-GATE SVABHAVA

VISHUD-DHE MAHA-NAYA PARI-VARE SVAHA

THIRD STEP – ACTIVATE THE NUMBER 9

The 3rd step is to activate the current prosperity star #9 as well as to activate the luck of the double 9, which is found in all homes. Display the Double 9 Plaque near to the main entrance of your home or office.

This Double 9 Plaque features a pair of cranes, which symbolize aspiration, transformation, longevity, and immortality. The number 9 is pronounced “Jiu” in Chinese, whose sound means long-lasting fortune and maximum level of happiness. On the back of this plaque is a mirror with the wish-fulfilling mantra to attract an abundance of good fortune into one’s life. The mirror should face outwards with the pair of cranes facing inwards.

FOURTH STEP – HARNESS DRAGON ENERGY

The 4th step is to place the 9 Dragon Plaque in the Southwest to invite in new and long-lasting wealth into your home.

This plaque is set against a royal blue colour to symbolize Water energy to balance the Fire element of the new Period of 9. To the Chinese, Water is always synonymous with wealth, prosperity, and abundance.

FIFTH STEP – MAKE A WEALTH VASE

The 5th step is to preserve and protect your family wealth. Do so by making a Wealth Vase and placing it in a cupboard in your bedroom, or you can also place a Wealth Cabinet on your bedside table. Inside the Wealth Cabinet, you should place symbols of wealth and written wishes of future wealth. In addition, you should also place some money from your wallet, as well as money given to you by rich persons symbolic of sharing their wealth.

SIXTH STEP – PROTECT YOUR HEALTH

The 6th and final step in preparing your home for period 9 is to protect the health of your family and all at home by placing symbols of good health and long life in the East corner of your living room. You can place a pair of Wu Luo, the Health Pyramid, a pair of Cranes with Peaches and Bamboo or the Great Magic Tortoise.

Astrology and feng shui are inseparable from both the lunar and solar calendar. This is why at the start of each New Year, it becomes so important to get intimately acquainted with new patterns of energies revealed in the calendar. Everything hinges on the calendar and we look at ALL the charts that reveal the different star influences on the different calendar days. These charts disclose how the days of the year are affected by the way the destiny stars fly around the compass, combining with the influences of elements, trigrams and numbers. The combinations are what reveal also the destiny of different animal signs through the new year.

Every new year has new lucky and unlucky days. This results from how the elements, attributes and trigrams of the days interact. Experts calculate the effect of these influences to come up with lucky days for undertaking specific events; there are lucky days to marry, to start a new job, to travel, to launch a new project… indeed there are lucky days for almost every kind of activity.

feng shui calendar 2024

But the calculation of lucky days can be complicated, because to all the attributes listed, there must also be added the influence of the MOON in its passage through the 28 constellations; the planetary cycles, which means the movements of the seven vital planets affecting our destinies. These planets influence the destiny of the seven days of the week, and hence the lunar calendar usually exerts great influence on the luck of days.

Some calendar experts take into account other influences as well. Tibetans for instance examine the calculation of the Kalachakra effects and the Buddha days on the cycles of time, while the Chinese examine the annual chi energies of the 28 Lunar Mansions. The Indians meanwhile also input the impact of their Holy Days.

To determine whether or not any given day is auspicious or inauspicious, we need to calculate how all the elements combine. It is easy to make big mistakes when there are so many variables to consider; it is not advisable then to try and do these calculations on an ad hoc basis. It is easier and more accurate to depend on the calculations undertaken by the experts, who then collate and compile them into an easy-to-use ALMANAC.

THE LUNAR CALENDAR

The Asian traditions place greater emphasis on the impact of the moon, and in fact, we believe that our daily lives are very much linked to the phases of the moon’s waxing and waning cycles. It is already acknowledged that lunar cycles affect the levels of the sea, the growth rate of plants, the weather, the women’s monthly cycles, and also the human beings’ psychic characteristics. We believe that during the time of the full moon, our psychic powers are at their peak. Thus on full moon days, every action is fuelled by stronger and more extreme passionate energy. This is when prayers take on greater power, when actions exert a heavier impact, when accidents and violence tend to occur suddenly and more frequently. Full moon days are always regarded as special days by those who believe in the power of the moon’s radiance to add strength to one’s psychic skills. Feng shui done on full moon days is believed to have great effect, especially when it has to do with the placement of auspicious new objects in the home.

The power of the lunar influence is something Buddhists take seriously so that full moon days are also prayer days and meditation days; these are days when performing shamanic and tantric rituals brings a higher rate of success. The intensity of energy during full moon days can also be harnessed to perform yogic feats such as flying, jumping to enormous heights and walking great distances at superhuman speeds; feats that many lay people might well regard as superhuman or magical. Full moon days are excellent for practising a full round of the Tibetan yogic rites of rejuvenation, a series of five exercises believed to enhance the spinning of the seven chakras of the human body – supposedly a powerful way to reverse the aging process.

The MOON however is regarded as the planet of impermanence, of change and fluidity. It is viewed as moving rather quickly across the great skies and so it is often thought of being a transitory phenomenon. The light of the moon is considered a reflection, much like the mirror of the Earth. The moon is often associated with the occurrence of psychic phenomena, changing emotions, unattainable dreams and illusory imaginings. These associations make the Moon a popular symbol of contemplation and meditation. When you gaze at the moon, any agitation you may be experiencing will leave you. You will become calm. Your mind will get pacified…

When the year nears its calendar end and the energies of the New Year starts to unfold and become strong, that is a good time to gaze at the moon. In the last three full moons of the waning lunar year, it is regarded as incredibly auspicious to use a brass mirror to capture the image of the moon in all its shining glory. The mirror should then be kept close to your body to enhance your fortunes through the following year. Moon energy brings beauty, calm and inner strength that adds to your life force and inner essence.

The SUN on the other hand is associated with the creative worldly self, with expansion, personal will and ambition. The sun personifies the characteristic of domination. The SUN empowers and strengthens, but it is power of a worldly kind. It activates the five elements of Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water; unlike the moon, its cycle is daily, but the sun alternates day with the Moon’s night. How strong the power of the sun is does not change with the days unlike the moon. The sun is always strong, always bright, always yang!

When you are in need of greater willpower to fuel your actions and projects, you can capture the sun’s energy. This is done not by holding a mirror to the sun but by displaying the three suns aided by the three-legged bird. Having the three suns in the home invites in the energies of the sun, which complements the energies of the full moon!

The solar calendar is more dominant in western astrology, but the Chinese also have their own solar calendar, sometimes called the Hsia calendar. This is one of feng shui’s more prominent formulas that deals with the time dimension uses the solar calendar to chart the quality of days with respect to the strength for different kinds of activities.

The feng shui practitioner and astrologer must thus be mindful of which calendar is being used when it comes to selecting lucky and unlucky days. Both calendars have their characteristics and attributes. The skill of the practitioner lies in selecting the calendar that is appropriate for the activity being performed. It also depends on the formula and method being applied to improve things.

Chinese New Year falls on February 10th 2024. One of the most important days in the Lunar Calendar, it is a day when tradition is best observed as faithfully as possible to ensure that abundance and prosperity follow you all through the year.

Chinese New Year is so important that preparations begin as early as a month before the new moon appears. There will be new clothes to buy, new furniture to bring in, food to prepare, home repairs to do, flowers to order and altars to clean – everything just to make sure that the house gets a thorough spring cleaning and is ready to welcome in all the best energies by the time Chinese New Year arrives.

It is then celebrated over all 15 days of the first full moon, with special rituals associated with specific days.

THINGS TO GET DONE BEFORE CHINESE NEW YEAR

1. Make repairs

Start by checking your home for defects and ensuring that things are working well. Repair leaking toilets, broken faucets, broken roof tiles, leaking ceilings and so on, as leaking water implies loss of wealth, as well as loss of health. Cracked walls and broken doorways can cause serious problems when carried into the New Year. Anything affecting the kitchen or dining room can also have a nasty impact on your rice bowl. Other critical areas to repair include the main door area and your bedroom.

If you can, you should give your home a fresh coat of paint every 4 – 5 years in order to start the year with a clean slate and make way for new opportunities for improvement. Focus on decluttering your home of last year’s “rubbish”; get rid of old newspapers, magazines, books, plastic bags, broken containers and clothes you want to throw out. Allowing clutter to build up will only aggravate or worsen any problems that you face.

Go through your cutlery and plates, cups, bowls and serving dishes, and dispose of the ones that are chipped or cracked. Damaged utensils are a sign of broken luck and they bring the home Bad Feng Shui. This affects the prosperity of the family.

Check your beds for damage. Sleeping on damaged or broken beds will bring obstacles and blockages to everything you do. Success will be afflicted when the bed frame is damaged. This also creates a rift in your marriage.

Inspect cupboards and drawers for mismatched socks, torn or thread-worn undergarments, shirts, pants and damaged shoes. Dispose of clothes you have not worn in more than a year. Clearing the cupboard symbolizes removing negative energies and creates space for NEW things to come to you.

2. Restock your kitchen

It is most auspicious to enter the New Year with a completely restocked kitchen. Remove and dispose of any expired food stuff. Clean out your rice urn, wash and dry it, then place a red packet with 3 dynasty coins tied with red thread at the base, and fill it to the brim with new rice. Keep your rice urn at least three quarters full throughout the 15 days of Chinese New Year. Next, stock up the pantry and refrigerator for Chinese New Year, as it is important that there is food in the home to last the 15 days.

3. Bring in growth energy

2024 is a year when Chinese New Year occurs after Lap Chun. To introduce excellent growth chi into the home, you should decorate it with fruiting lime trees and flowering plants before January 25th. This will invite in fresh new opportunities for wealth and career progress to all at home.

4. Put up auspicious symbols of good fortune

Fill the home with auspicious symbols of good fortune to add more luck. This can be done with throw pillows and carpets. Auspicious sonnets, especially with the Chinese word “Fuk”, meaning good fortune, are commonly strung up at the entrance of homes, along with some red lanterns as well.

5. Update the feng shui of your home

The feng shui of your home should be updated between December 21st 2023 (Winter Solstice) and February 4th 2024, which is the start of the solar year. Winter Solstice marks the changing of the Tai Sui. It is also when the Three Killings of 2024 begins to take effect. The annual Flying Stars take effect on February 4th, which is Lap Chun.

If you are planning to reuse your feng shui cures, you need to wipe them clean with a damp cloth soaked in cleansing water. BUT IT IS ALWAYS BEST TO USE NEW CURES. The enhancers can be reused twice, but do realize that remedies work by absorbing bad energies from the past year, which need cleansing before reuse. Once you have updated the feng shui of your home, you should perform the space cleansing ritual.

6. How to prepare cleansing water

You need flower petals from 5 kinds of flowers (best if you can get flowers representing the 5 elements – Blue for Water, Yellow for Earth, Green for Wood, Red for Fire and White for Metal) and leaves from the Kaffir lime (you can use lime or lemon leaves if you cannot get Kaffir leaves). Soak these in a bowl of water with 1 tablespoon of sea salt and place them in the sun for 10 minutes before using. Rinse your cleaning cloth in the mixture, squeeze dry then wipe all your remedies, enhancers, and auspicious good luck charms, as well as all symbols of good fortune in your home. You can also use this water to clean your home altar, statues and figurines.

7. How to perform a space cleansing ritual

Open all your windows and doors, and switch on all the lights. It is best to do this in the daytime. Light some Period 9 Incense mixed with 1 tablespoon of Purifying Incense Powder in an incense burner. Then, with the burning incense, walk around each room 7 times in a clockwise direction while chanting the corresponding mantras and visualizing the negative energy coming off your walls. You can also ring the 7 Metals Ringing Bell or stroke Singing Bowls for enhanced effect.

Leave the doors and windows open for at least one hour after the ritual to allow bad energies to exit and good energies to permeate the home as the incense dissipates.

This is also known as “Yuen Xiao”, the Chinese Peach Blossom Day which benefits all couples in love. In the past, single women would toss oranges written with descriptions of their desired partner into the river to seek a husband. However, in today’s modern world, men are also known to practise this to find a suitable wife. Candles are lit in a paper lantern and hung up on the outside of homes, and “Tong Yuen” is often eaten as dessert on the final celebration dinner of the year. In areas where a river is not available, Sky Lanterns with wishes written upon them are set free to soar into the heavens in search for potential mates. This is another good day to be vegetarian.

On the first day of Chinese New Year, the God of Wealth bestows immense wealth, prosperity and good fortune to all who ask for his blessings, making it an excellent time to welcome him into your home.

This year, Chinese New Year falls on FEBRUARY 10th, and the God of Wealth will come from the NORTHEAST.

The Lo Shu number of this day is #5. This means that homes facing Northeast, South, North or Northwest have very fortunate stars and will benefit tremendously from welcoming in the God of Wealth.

Northeast and South-facing homes have the #8 and #9 respectively and will enjoy plenty of wealth and prosperity luck. Those that face North have the #1, which brings the luck of being victorious all through the year, while those oriented Northwest have the #6 enhancing money and windfall luck.

Just because your home does not face Northeast, South, North or Northwest does not mean you cannot greet the God of Wealth. All you need is an open space in your garden that allows you to face Northeast when setting up the offering table.

THE WELCOMING RITUAL

To receive the God of Wealth, select an auspicious hour according to your animal sign. The table below provides time guides for the welcoming ritual. (Note: for those born in the Year of the Dog, you are advised NOT to receive the God of Wealth, as this day conflicts with your animal sign.)

Time Auspicious Inauspicious
Time: 12am to 1am (Rat Hour) Auspicious: Rat, Ox, Tiger, Dragon, Snake, & Rooster Inauspicious: Horse, Sheep, Dog & Boar
Time: 11am to 1pm (Horse Hour) Auspicious: Dragon, Horse, Sheep, & Boar Inauspicious: Rat, Rabbit, Snake, Dog, Ox & Monkey

Ingredients needed:

  • An image of Choy San, the God of Wealth
  • An Incense burner
  • Large incense sticks
  • Medium incense sticks
  • 6 small sized porcelain cups (for tea and white rice wine)
  • One set of red candles
  • One “Fatt Gou” cake
  • One “Fatt Choi” vegetable
  • Red plates offering 5 types of fruits
  • Red plates offering some vegetarian food
  • Red plates of sweets and “Lian Kou”
  • A pot of gold, gold bars, gold ingots and I-Ching coins

First, take a shower; it is important to receive the God of Wealth with a clean body and new clothes.

Then, use the compass to orient your altar table towards the Northeast direction. While facing NE, place the incense burner in the center of the table. Place the offerings on red-colored plates behind the incense burner. Form two rows of 3 small cups each in front of the incense burner. Pour tea into the first row of cups. and white rice wine into the second row of cups. Behind all the offerings and incense joss pots, place the Choy San. Make sure that Choy San is coming from the Northeast direction.

When ready, you can start to receive the God of Wealth at the auspicious time selected.

Light candles at the altar in your home, turn on all the lights, and open all doors and windows. Make three prostrations to the Deities on your altar, then light the candle and 3 large incense sticks on the small altar table set up outside the house.

The Patriarch of the family should hold 3 large incense sticks and prostrate to the God of Wealth. When making prayers, he should hold the incense sticks in both hands and kneel down facing Northeast. He must invite the God of Wealth to come into the house and make the request on behalf of the family members. He should then place the incense sticks into the incense burner, light the medium incense sticks and distribute 3 incense sticks to each of his family members. Everyone should pray to the God of Wealth and invite him into the home.

When the incense sticks are burnt halfway, focus your mind on inviting the God of Wealth into your home. After that, make a toast. Pour 3 cups of tea (about 80%) onto the floor. Then, make the second toast of the wine. Pour 80% of the wine of the 3 cups onto the floor.

Light three incense sticks and hold them with both hands as you walk into your house. A family member should carry the Choy San with both hands and walk in front of you. Visualize the God of Wealth entering your house, bringing your home all kinds of wealth luck.

Go straight to your home altar. Place the 3 incense sticks on the incense burner. It is important to inform the deities on your altar that you have invited the God of Wealth into your home. Then, offer 3 cups of rice wine and 3 freshly lit incense sticks.

Display the Choy San in the Southwest corner of your home for the duration of the 15 days of New Year, and on the 16th day, place the Choy San facing your main door.

Be Adventurous

The Monkey steps into a year with superior element luck, which is further enhanced by the #9 Star, an Earth Seal and a Big Auspicious. This suggests unparalleled success, so you should go all out to take on fresh challenges. Place the Great Increasing Wealth Bowl in the SW and carry the Lucky 9 Amulet to capture the lucky vibrations of the number 9. Activate the Earth Seal by carrying the Earth Seal Talisman, and the Big Auspicious by placing the Big Auspicious Mirror in the SW. For business luck, get the Cash Flow Camel. Although your luck is strong, there are months that may appear more challenging. Display the 5 Element Pagoda With Tree Of Life and carry the amulet version to dissolve obstacles that stand in your way. Monkeys born in Water and Fire years need to take care of their health. Display the Wu Lou in the SW.

Harness Dragon Energy

The Rooster has excellent life force and spirit essence, which is good news in a year when you are afflicted by the Five Yellow. There may be setbacks, but with the right remedies, you can flourish. Place the 5 Element Pagoda With Tree Of Life in the West, or carry the amulet version. As the Dragon, your secret friend, is ruling the year, you enjoy good fortune in the form of helpful allies. Feng Shui 2024

The end of December is a bustling time for feng shui practitioners as everyone will be busy updating the feng shui of their homes. On December 21st, 2023, the Tai Sui and 3 Killings of 2024 will start exerting their influence. Come Feb 4th, 2024, it will be the annual Flying Stars that start to really settle into their new positions.

2024 is the Year of the Wood Dragon and also the year when the Period of 9 begins. These two indications bring immense transformational energies, suggesting big changes in the world and in the way we do things. The dominant star being the Quarrelsome Star #3 however suggests great unrest and turbulence. Tread carefully and don’t let your emotions rule your head. Wear the Mantra Ring of Power, Influence & Wealth to always come out on top.

SUBDUE THE AFFLICTION STARS

Quarrelsome Star #3 in the Center

The #3 Star flies into the center sector, bringing disharmony into everyone’s lives. It is a hostile star causing conflicts and misunderstandings that can lead to lawsuits, court cases and in extreme cases, even jail time. People can be more sensitive, with arguments erupting over the smallest of things, and petty differences getting blown out of proportion.

Because we are in Period 9, the 3 star is especially dangerous and powerful. You should thus try to keep the center sector of your home quiet. Remove all sources of sound like TVs, stereos, even grandfather clocks. Shield against conflict chi by placing the Trinity Of Apples here, and since this star exerts its influence on everyone, it is a good idea to also carry the portable 3 Harmony Animals Amulet at all times if possible. Other remedies for the 3 star are the 9 Dragons Carpet and the 9 Dragons Cushion Covers.

Illness Star #2 in the Southeast

The #2 Star makes its way to the Southeast, indicating health issues for those born in years of the Dragon and Snake, and those with main doors or bedrooms located in this sector. Because it shares the SE with the Yin House Star and Robbery Star from the 24 Mountains, things can go downhill very fast. Don’t take your health for granted! Place the Wu Lou here to suppress illness chi. If you have elderly residents at home, display the Pair of Cranes with Peaches and Bamboo or Medicine Buddha Plaque as well. Chant the Medicine Buddha Mantra 108 times daily to invoke his blessings of good health and longevity – “Tayatha Om Bekandze Bekandze Maha Bekandze Radza Samudgate Soha”.

5 Yellow moves to the West

The Wu Wang moves to the West, bringing misfortune chi to this corner of your home. If your main door or bedroom is located West, or if you are born in the year of the Rooster, you need to be more mindful of this affliction. Place the 5 Element Pagoda With Tree Of Life in the West of your home and carry the White Umbrella Goddess Pagoda Amulet. Chant her mantra for stronger effect – “Hum Mama Hum Ni Soha”. If possible, avoid using the West sector too much this year.

Loss Star #7 in the South

The 7 star brings loss, robbery, violence and betrayal. In the South, it afflicts the Direct Spirit of Period 9, which is detrimental to the wealth potential of most homes. As the South represents one’s reputation, losses can be related to your status and good name. If your front door faces South or is located South, you must step up security and place cures to safeguard your assets and your wealth. Display the Elephant & Rhinoceros with Ksitigarbha Staff or Door Guardians Plaque in this part of your home. Those born in years of the Horse are directly affected and must carry the Elephant & Rhinoceros with Ksitigarbha Staff Amulet. We also suggest that everyone have the Magic Macaw here to safeguard your assets and your livelihood.

Three Killings resides in the South

The Three Killings brings three types of misfortune – loss of wealth, loss of reputation and loss of loved ones. In 2024, it flies to the South, so those living in homes facing South or in bedrooms located South must take extra precautions. Display the 3 Celestial Mirror with the Pi Yao, Fu Dog and Chi Lin to remedy. Those born in Snake, Horse, Sheep, Boar, Rat and Ox years should also carry the 3 Celestial Guardians with Chakra Protection Wheel Amulet to repel its harmful energies.

One must never have one’s back to the Three Killings,
so DO NOT SIT FACING NORTH this year.

Tai Sui in the Southeast

The Tai Sui of 2024 takes up office in the Dragon location of Southeast. To ensure the support of the Tai Sui, place the Dragon Pi Xie in the SE1 part of your home and office. Those born in years of the Dragon, Sheep, Dog, & Ox MUST carry the 2024 Tai Sui Amulet. While gaining his support is invaluable, there is also danger when incurring his wrath. Avoid that by NOT facing Southeast this year. Also make sure you DO NOT start or end renovations in this location.

ACTIVATE THE AUSPICIOUS STARS

Star of Current Prosperity #9 in the Southwest

The 9 Star brings great good fortune to the Southwest – success, promotion, marriage, new alliances, fame, wealth and celebrations of all kinds. This especially benefits the Matriarch, those born in Sheep and Monkey years, and all those with main doors and bedrooms located in the SW. Activate this mega-auspicious star with the Money Frog on Lilypad or Lucky 9 Enhancer. You can also display the 9 Dragons Plaque, Double 9 Plaque or Great Increasing Wealth Bowl. Or best of all, display the 9 Magnificent Horses here.

As the 9 Star has the power to magnify all the energies around it, proper remedies must be employed whenever inauspicious stars share its compass location. The SW this year plays host to the Yearly Killings, so stay well protected by placing the Double Dragon Yang Energy Enhancer here.

Wealth Star #8 in the North

The 8 star ushers prosperity luck into the North, benefiting those born in the year of the Rat, as well as residents of North-facing homes, or those sleeping in North sector located bedrooms. The 8 brings improvements in cash flow and new opportunities for career and business growth. But because this star weakens considerably, being the star number of the immediate past period, it needs to be strongly activated for it to do its job. Display the Water Wave with Pearl to replenish Water chi, the missing element representing wealth this year. To unlock hidden wealth potential, display the Azure Dragon with the Bigger Pearl. If you are young and just starting out in your career, the Young Green Dragon will help you to get off to a great start.

Heaven Star #6 in the Northeast

The Northeast, home of the Ox and Tiger, enjoys blessings from the 6 Star. This star brings divine assistance, windfalls and strong mentor luck. It removes obstacles, making goals easier to attain, and success much easier to achieve. Capture its auspicious energies by placing the Goddess Namgyalma here. You can also boost windfall luck with the Big Auspicious Mirror; this will activate the Big and Small Auspicious stars in this sector.

Future Prosperity Star #1 in the East

The Victory Star 1 takes on a new role as the Star of Future Prosperity when we move into 2024 and into Period 9, bringing long-term wealth and good fortune by enhancing one’s competitiveness and winning potential. Because the 1 in 2024 is a Water star flying into a Wood sector, it needs to be strengthened for it to be effective. Bring it to life with the Sky Horse With Flag Of Success or Period 9 Windhorse to manifest the kind of success that keeps on growing. The Rabbit-born, and also animal signs with weak levels of success element luck should carry the amulet version of the Period 9 Windhorse.

#4 Star moves to the Northwest

The 4 Star governs education and creativity, relationships, romance, and love. It sparks new ideas, promotes positive interactions and brings powerful benefactors into one’s life. Flying into the Northwest, the sector that represents the Patriarch and leaders, suggests strong alliances being formed among those at the top. Students benefit from the auspicious energies here as well. Place the Scholar with Eagle Mini Plaque in this part of your home to boost study luck, and to garner the right kind of support at work and in business.

Singles seeking love can improve their chances of meeting the right person by displaying a pair of Bejeweled Mandarin Ducks here. If married however, and sleeping in NW bedrooms, watch for external interferences as temptations are rife; keep your love bonds strong by placing the Bejewelled Mandarin Duck in the NW. You can also carry the Anti-Infidelity Medallion or place the Rooster with Fan on your bedside table.

Activate Ho Tu Magic

In 2024 we have the 9 Star in the Matriarch’s corner and the 4 Star in the Patriarch’s corner, forming the Ho Tu combination that brings business and commercial growth luck. This indicates that married couples who team up to work together enjoy excellent success potential, with husband providing the creative driving force, while wife puts their ideas into action. Make the most of this lucky indication by placing the Ho Tu Enhancing Mirror in both the Northwest and Southwest sectors of your home.

Chinese New Year marks the first day of the New Year in the Chinese calendar. It is also known as the Spring Festival or the Lunar New Year, and celebrations last for 15 days. The first DAY OF CHINESE NEW YEAR in 2024 falls on February 10th and marks the start of the Year of the Dragon. This is the longest and most important of all Chinese festivals.

Auspicious activities to carry out during this time of the year are:

  • Making offerings to household deities.
  • Wearing new clothes, particularly in red.
  • Hosting a large banquet for family and friends.
  • Taking part in lion and dragon dances, as well as festive parades featuring beating gongs and clashing cymbals.
WOFS 2024 Red Envelope. Get them now!

Many children receive “lucky money” in red envelopes and household doors are open to let good luck enter on Chinese New Year Day. It is believed that whatever happens during Chinese New Year, and whatever mood you set, will have an impact on how things go for you for the rest of the year. It is thus important to be happy and cheerful during these 15 days, to hold your temper and not get angry unnecessarily. Surround yourself with people who put you in a good mood.

It is also important to choose good dates for certain activities. For good business luck for the coming year, it is vital to pick a good day to “re-open” the office after the Chinese New Year break. When you re-open your office or business premises, it is good to make some noise with a lion dance. If you can, it is also auspicious to have the lions roll in buckets full of mandarin oranges, Chinese coins and ingots into your office – as this symbolizes the rolling in of gold, wealth and prosperity, and bodes well for your luck in the coming year.

PICK THE RIGHT DAY TO RE-START WORK

Here’s a list of the best days to re-start work. If you cannot re-start on one of these dates, then pick an average day. Try to avoid returning to work on a day that conflicts your animal sign.
