1Change your sleeping direction – reorientate the marriage bed so that the couple are sleeping with the head pointed to the man’s nien yen direction under the Eight mansions KUA formula method. This is the family luck orientation and when you sleep with this orientation it brings wonderful family luck to husband and wife. Everything is harmonious for them, including their fidelity to each other and the fulfillment of their wish to start a family.

2Place a pair of fertility elephants on the table beside the bed inside the bedroom. They can be any size… if you like them large then place them on the floor flanking the bed. The Chinese believe that the elephant is a precious symbol which brings family luck and the image of one with its trunk down attracts children into the family. In Beijing, the road that leads to the Ming tombs is lined with huge life sized elephant sculptures. Local folklore has it that any mother wishing for a son need only rub the back of any of these elephants.

3An excellent method to attract fertility luck – place the image of a bunch of pomegranates in the bedroom. Pomegranates are excellent symbols of fertility. having the real thing is great but if you cannot find them, then a painting or picture of them will do just as well.

4Place the Medallion of Kuan Yin holding a baby near to your bed. It is believed that when you place an image of Kuan Yin holding on to a baby, she will help you conceive and bring you children with good attitudes and they will be filial. Another image for improving fertility is the Fertility Tara. In this case, you can display the Fertility Tara on your home altar and offer her some flowers and 7 small bowls of Water.

5And finally, here is the method I like the best … hang a picture of one hundred children in the house, on a wall which you cannot fail to see each time you enter the home. This is a famous painting and most Chinese emporiums should carry this. If you cannot find such a painting then look for a painting or photograph of a cute child or baby and then hang it on the wall. Baby chi is most powerful and in Taoist feng shui like attracts like… so if you want children, have children images in the home.

• Doors to bedrooms should be properly aligned especially if it is along a corridor. If not, there would always be friction between siblings.
• Tall children on short beds often fall ill. Check your child’s bed.
• Petty resentments and jealousies rife among your children? It could be attributed to different sized beds for different children. Try having the same size bed for everyone.
• Doors next to or near each other should be of the same dimension. If one is larger or taller, the person with the bigger door will have an inclination towards mistreating and dictating the other with a smaller door.

Here are some tips on how you can improve your child’s study by rearranging his or her room using Feng Shui.

Position of study table

Make sure your child is not working at a desk that is below a toilet on the upper floor as this generates bad killing energy.

Position of study chair

Where your child sits is also important too. Make sure that nothing sharp or pointed is directed towards the chair, as this will create more killing energy.

Study table surroundings

Have your child sit with his or her head facing the best study direction and with solid support behind (i.e. wall, closet) or a painting of something solid i.e. a mountain.

Try not to have your child sit directly in front of a window. Your child would lack the support needed to study well.

Avoid hanging paintings of water (i.e. lakes, waterfalls) or placing any hostile or pointed objects (i.e. pictures of guns, wild animals, etc.) behind the desk where your child sits.

Observe your child’s study area and desk. Are there any protruding air-conditioner, exposed overhead beams or edges, or sharp edges of furniture, pillar or protruding corner nearby? Be observant of these factors as it brings killing energy.

Child’s Bedroom

Is there a tree near your child’s bedroom? Try not to have one, as it is detrimental to his or her concentration on studies.

Toilets & Staircases

If your child’s bedroom door directly faces a toilet or staircase, the negative energy created will cause your child to be disobedient, rebellious and unmotivated in his/her schoolwork.

To remedy such an affliction, hang a metal windchime above the door to dissipate the negative chi from the staircase or toilet. Hang the windchime on the outside of the bedroom such that when the door closes the windchime is OUTSIDE the bedroom rather than inside.

Sleeping Direction & Conditions

Check your child’s sleeping direction and conditions. If your child is sleeping with his/her head pointed to one of his/her bad directions, he/she will not do well, whether in schoolwork, exams, socially with friends or with siblings.

Make sure also your child is not sleeping with a beam directly on top of his/her head. If there is a beam in the room, try to move the bed such that it does not hit down on the child, especially his/her head. Beds should have solid headboards, and the head of the bed should not be placed against a window.

Try to position the bed such that the headboard rests against a solid wall. Also, avoid waterbeds. No matter how novel the idea, it symbolizes lack of support during sleep, bringing bad feng shui to the occupant of the bed. Also do not let your child sleep on the floor. This can lead to your child being unsettled and can also bring health problems.

Desk Direction

If your child is to do well in his/her studies, it is vital you position his/her desk such that he/she faces one of his/her auspicious directions while working. Use our online Kua calculator to find your child’s good directions.

Education Energizers

For education luck, display a crystal globe in the NE of your child’s bedroom or study room. Another useful energizer for study luck is the dragon carp or three carps embracing a ball. They should be displayed in the NE sector.

You should also get a personal crystal point for your child to hold while he/she studies. If right-handed, hold in the left hand, and vice versa if left-handed. While in exams, ask your child to bring out the crystal and place on his/her examination desk. This is a tried and tested method for enhancing luck in exams and has proven to work time and again.

(N.B. Before giving the personal crystal point to your child, soak the crystal in rock salt water for 7 days and 7 nights to cleanse it of other people’s energies and negative vibrations which may be present.)
